On August 21st, the new born giant panda babies debut in Ya’an base, China Giant Panda Research Center. In the nursery house, there are ten panda babies who are receiving the artificial feeding. The oldest of them is just two months years old and the youngest is less than a week.
In 2015, the Research Center deploys and makes a careful arrangement according to the plan of breeding among the captive pandas around the whole country. It ensures the success of the breeding work. So far, the center breeds 14 embryos including 21 panda babies and there survived 20 babies. Now, there are still some pregnant pandas and there is a hope to break the breeding record. It’s pleasant that the number of the panda babies who are born this year is higher than before, specially the number of twins, which is up to seven pairs. The number of panda twins is the highest record in the research center this year. The research center set up the experts team positively when they do the breeding work and they help the domestic and abroad companies to breed the giant pandas. Until now, Tingting, who lives in the Chimelong Safari Park and Fengyi, who lives in the Malaysia National Zoological Park gave birth successfully. Recently, the Washington Zoological Park claimed that Meixiang, who lives in the U.S now is pregnant and she will give birth this month.
China Giant Panda Research Center has one of the most advanced technology in administrating pandas in the world. Through many years’ research, the center overcomes those difficulties of oestrus, breeding, fertilization and the survival of panda babies, which are the three difficulties in the world. The development of the captive giant panda babies becomes faster recently. At the same time, the center puts forward the new idea of caring feeding and eugenics and they pay more attention to the mental healthy and quality of giant pandas. It establishes a good blueprint of creating in the field of protecting and researching the wild animals in China.
