The warm welcome home ceremony for giant panda ‘Lin Bing’ who has finished her trip at Thailand was held in the morning of September 29 at Ya’an Bifengxia Base.
There were around 400 people attend the ceremony, including Jia Jiansheng who is the Deputy Director of Department for Wildlife and Forest Plants Protection, the National Forestry Administration, Yao Sidan who is the head of Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department, Ms. Kanchana Silpa-archa who is a delegate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand, Mrs. Srirat Rastapana who is the Chairman of the Board of Zoo Organization in Thailand, leaders and guests at different levels of organizations (such as China Association of Wild Animal Protection, Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department - International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, Chiang Mai Zoo, Consulate General of Thailand in Chengdu), accompanied fans from Thailand and media and journalists in and abroad.
Jia Jiansheng who is the Deputy Director of Department for Wildlife and Forest Plants Protection, the National Forestry Administration and Zhang Hemin who is the Director of the Wolong Nature Reserve Administration delivered addresses respectively in the ceremony. Zhang Hemin gave a review of research achievements that CCRCGP had gained during ‘Lin Bing’’s 10 years living in Thailand, and he indicated:’Lin Bing will be well looked after by our careful staff and she live a healthy and happy life at her hometown.’
Ms. Kanchana Silpa-archa, a delegate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, was one of the 36 super fans who have accompanied with ‘Lin Bing’ on her way back to home. She shared some interesting stories about ‘Lin Bing’ and gave a photo of ‘Lin Bing’ with signatures of all fans to the Deputy Director - Jia Jiansheng as a gift.
Mrs. Srirat Rastapana, the Chairman of the Board of Thai Zoo Organizations, officially transferred the profiles of ‘Lin Bing’ to Yao Sidan, the head of Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department by all spectators’ witnesses.
Sichuan is the hometown of the giant pandas. In the ceremony, leaders from both Department for Wildlife and Forest Plants Protection, the National Forestry Administration and Sichuan Provincial Forestry Department gave a present, which represents the best wishes from Sichuan people, to the Thai friends who are loving the giant pandas and caring the panda protection work.
‘Lin Bing’ is very spirited, and she has a good appetite without adverse reactions although she just finished a long journey, which indicates that ‘Lin Bing’’s physical quality is good.
