29th Jul, panda “Bai Yun” whom travelled to US, had born a cub in San Diego Zoo at local time 2:10 pm. This is the sixth cub she had born in the zoo, also is another successful crystallization of the cooperation from research center. “Bai Yun” became the one gave most birth to cubs whom living abroad from research center.
Panda “Bai Yun”, female, born on 7 Sep 1991 at China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda in Wo Long, settle in San Diego Zoo in US on 10 Sep 1996. Previous cubs are “Hua Mei”, “Mei Sheng”, “Su Lin”, “Zhen Zhen” and “Yun Zi” respectively. Among them, “Hua Mei”, “Mei Sheng”, “Su Lin” and “Zhen Zhen” came back to China, form the biggest returnees panda population in the world with other returnees panda “Tai Shan” and “Fu Long”.
China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda in Wo Long, as the most important worldwide panda scientific research and cooperation and public education platform and output base, has been active in the integration of scientific research and technology resources through a variety of channels, extensive research cooperation between the international and domestic. Up to now, there have been 18 pandas from the research center went out China and 15 panda cub in the breeding of exotic foreign land, 10 survived, made an important contribution to the integration of international research resources, promote cultural exchanges and build a bridge of friendship.
