20th November, 2012, today marked the official adoption by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) of a giant panda in Sichuan Wolong National Natural Reserve. The giant panda is named “Cheng Cheng”. Mr. Pieter Elbers, Managing Director & COO of KLM, Mr. Frederic Kahane, General Manager of Air France KLM Greater China, Mr. Huang Jianhua, the Secretary of Sichuan Wolong National Natural Reserve Administration Bureau, and Mr. Zhou Xiaoping, the Deputy General Engineer in Chief of Giant Panda Protection Research Center, attended the adoption ceremony.
Secretary Huang Jianhua thanks the KLM on Giant Panda Protection and public support for the cause, and thanks to a KLM Boeing 777-300 named "Wolong nature reserve". Then to attend the ceremony that the brief introductions to the Wolong nature reserve, China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.
Mr. Pieter Elbers said the KLM has been on social responsibility and with all the staff will continued concerned about the "Cheng Cheng" ’s healthy development, concerned about the Wolong National Nature Reserve of and China Giant Panda Protection and research center of development in the future.
Finally, Huang Jianhua's secretary exchanged gifts for KLM Mr. Pieter Elbers, Mr. Frederic Kahane, and issued an adoption certificate for KLM.
